ELIGIBILITY:
Any professional or non-professional wildlife artist residing in New York State is eligible to participate.
PROCEDURE:
Photographs or digital images are required of the artwork to be entered. Photos must be of the quality necessary for clear and concise identification of the artwork. One overall and one detailed photo of each entry is requested. The committee will select from among the photos the artwork to be accepted A notification of the decision of the jury will be mailed. Upon notification of acceptance, the artist must designate one competition entry from the accepted works.
Digital photo's in jpg form can be submitted if quality is acceptable. See below for e-mail addresses.
AWARDS:
Artwork will be professionally judged to determine the first, second and third place winners. The artwork selected will be awarded the traditional ribbons and cash awards of $500 for first , $250 for second and $150 for third, accompanying those respective places, along with the Carver and Painter of the Year designation. The winning artists photograph and a photo of the winning artwork will be prominently displayed at next years fair.
Note: The Youth Division entries are not included in the judging!
YOUTH DIVISION.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
The exhibit is open to any wildlife artist residing in New York State. There are two major classes of entries; Painting (any medium) and Sculpture (wood, metal, clay, etc.). Wildlife must be the predominant theme of the artwork. All entries will be juried and only those accepted by the panel will be eligible for exhibit.
Accepted works must be suitably framed or presented. The Committee reserves the right to reject any work not considered suitable.
Further eligibility regulations and entry procedures are specified on the entry forms which can be downloaded below..
All work must remain on display in the Horticulture Building for the entire duration of the New York State Fair.
Artwork can be delivered personally or mailed in. Details will be provided to accepted entrants.
2008 CALENDAR
July 18 Deadline for submission of slides and application forms.
July 19 - August 31 Artwork juried
August 1 Notifications mailed
August 18 Deadline for receiving mailed-in artwork
August 19 Exhibit set-up in Horticulture Building, New York State Fairgrounds.
Hand carried artwork can be delivered at a time and place arranged by Committee Chairmen.
August 20 FAIR OPENS
September 1 - Labor Day FAIR CLOSES
Artwork can be picked up at 9:00 p.m. at the exhibit site in the Horticultural Building or by special arrangement with Committee Chairmen..
September 2 Mail-in artwork returned.

SCULPTURE
New York State Fair Wildlife Sculptor of the Year - $500 and Rosette
